The Jody Bell woman is independent, very elegant, sexy and good fun. My mom used to call me Jody Bell as a little girl, that’s where the name comes from. I want to design pieces that you love so I take into consideration the different ladies that would wear Jody Bell. The brand is also inspired by how I feel and how I see myself. For our new line, we’ve added handbags and hats that are handmade in Spain.

I bought two, very small capsule collections at the same time. One of the collections is called Positano, inspired by travel and the other is called Puerto Rico. They are very different. Puerto Rico is green, black, white, tropical and botanical prints. Positano is very soft, daintier colours and prints as well. All of the prints are hand designed by myself so they are very unique and each print contains very subtly the Jody Bell logo that runs all the way through it. Each garment holds a beautiful rose gold bell, which is the signature of the brand.

Our beautifully designed shoes are made in an iconic Spanish factory where they make some very famous brands. I’m very lucky to be able to work with that factory, so I’m really excited about that because it’s something I‘ve wanted to bring into Jody Bell. We also do luxurious leather handbags that are handmade in an artisan factory quite close to where I live.

I’ve done a lot of travelling around the world and with my family. I’ve helped lots of people along the way and when I came back to Spain I realized that I want to help more people. There were lots of people on my doorstep that needed help and I found a local orphanage and the homeless men’s shelter. I decided to make it my quest to help these people because I was in a fortunate enough position so I founded the Grand A Wish charity.

Grant A Wish is growing all the time and I would like that a percentage of each sale goes towards the charity. That’s very important to me. In November, I’m hosting a very big event where I’ve designed a t-shirt that will be gifted to a few celebrities. The t-shirts that we sell, 100% of the proceeds will go to the Grant A Wish charity.

With a fashion brand, a charity and being a full time mom, how do you balance it all?

I don’t claim to be super woman. It is a huge juggling act and I’ve got a very good support network, family, friends… sometimes I have to travel far and wide for work and I do rely a lot on my family. My boys are very good, dependable, and they respect what I do. Then when it is family time, it is family time.

Despite the ups and down, nothing makes me more happy than creating a piece with so much love and passion and seeing beautiful ladies wearing it and saying how amazing they feel wearing Jody Bell. That is an incredible feeling and regarding charity, it’s so beautiful for the soul when you know that you can help change people’s lives and for the better. It just drives you to want to do more.
