What is MEET the BUYER.

MEET the BUYER is a WE are COCO initiative, that supports the very best emerging fashion talent to become commercially successful.

WE work with retailers to shape the brands of the future, by connecting brands to buyers in the world’s leading retailers through wholesale, mentorship, collaborations, product development and NFTs.

WE are the most established brand development scheme globally, with a network of over 250 luxury and high street retailers. 

Our Board of Mentors support brands and business owners through business development and commercial strategy to increase their wholesale orders and commercial success; both online and through global retail distribution.

The MEET the BUYER program is invitation only. 

The independent Council of Retailers and WE are COCO academic researchers, identifies brands and designers by the specific needs of our retailers, their potential and suitability, the brands creative authenticity, strong design aesthetic and point of difference. 

The Council consists of existing and former CEO’s and Boards of Directors at Harrods, Net-a-Porter, Matches, Isetan and SKP Beijing.

WE are COCO now encompasses Men’s and Women’s Ready to Wear (RTW), Accessories, Swimwear and Resort.

 

What is the Criteria for invitation?

MEET the BUYER initiative by WE are COCO is by invitation only program.

Every season, the independent Council of Retailers select 40 brands a year for participation in MTB. The program is now in its third season (Season III). 

All designers must have a minimum of two stockists (this cannot include your own store or webstore) or editorial features. 

Brands may also submit their look books and line sheets to hello@coconautical.com for consideration by our council

MEET the BUYER, connects brands directly to buyers. The initiative was created in response to the brands' need to connect directly with buyers, to build long-term relationships with retail decision-makers, to increase wholesale and distribution opportunities, and develop brands into viable commercial assets for retailers looking to invest in the growth and development of emerging brands.
